We're celebrating chocolate! Who'd like to learn to make chocolate kiss candies with guest contributor Leanne of May and Marie Baking Co?! Since it's getting close to Valentine's Day we think it's the best time to share with you some easy to make chocolates that will make your taste buds happy! Take it away Leanne...
I have a thing for candy molds (and making sweets)! When I saw the new small and large kiss chocolate molds I knew they'd be fun to try and wondered with the large mold if it was big enough to stuff?! The answer is YES! I gathered some of my favorite candies and began my "kiss" test. I got a little creative with the flavors and mix-ins which is the fun part! I'm sharing my tips in hopes that you try making your own chocolate kiss candies. They're the perfect sweet bite size sweet to gift!
Flavor combinations I made with my chocolate kiss candies:
The large kiss chocolate mold was so fun to use. The flavor combinations you could make are endless. Some other ideas you could add to your chocolate are tiny crips rice pieces, micro marshamallows with some crushed up graham crackers for a s'mores flavor and sprinkles of course, you can't forget sprinkles! Rainbow jimmies would make pretty funfetti chocolate kiss candies. So don't hold yourself back, check through your pantry to see what you might have on hand or get some special mix-ins to make customized flavors. They'd make the sweetest chocolate gift for Valentine's Day. You can even use them as toppers on a cake! The smaller kiss chocolate mold is great for making solid chocolates. You can even make a marbled look by using 2-3 chocolate flavors in each cavity of the mold.
If you want to get even fancier with your chocolate kiss candies you can wrap some of them in foil candy wrappers. If you're putting together a chocolate assortment for a gift this is a fun way to add a pop of color to your presentation. Place some of the unwrapped kisses in candy cups along with a few of the wrapped and package them in a candy box for the perfect Valentine's Day gift!
