How to Decorate Chocolate Caramel Popcorn Balls:

Caramel popcorn balls are delicious on their own but you can take them to the next level with a few extra supplies. If you have a favorite caramel popcorn ball recipe use that one or stop by Pinterest to see what might look good and has good reviews. You'll need a batch to make the project.

Supplies needed:

wooden candy apple sticks

mini wooden popsicle sticks

Sprinklefetti summer sunrise sprinkle mix

mini silver appetizer plates

bakers twine

ribbon

chocolate for melting: candy melts or almond bark

parchment paper or wax paper

Step 1: Make your favorite caramel popcorn ball recipe. When forming the balls make some the size of an apple and some the size of golf balls. Insert a wooden candy apple stick into the apple size popcorn balls and a mini popsicle stick into the golf ball size ones while they are still warm. Place on parchment or wax paper to allow to cool and set up.

Step 2: Melt some chocolate candy melts or almond bark in a bowl per package instructions For the apple size popcorn balls dip the bottom half into the chocolate. Use a spoon to help smooth the chocolate out and lightly shake off any access chocolate back into the bowl. Place back on parchment paper and allow to set. For the golf ball sized caramel popcorn balls cover the entire ball in chocolate and sprinkle on the Sprinklefetti sprinkle mix before the chocolate sets.

Step 3: The apple size caramel popcorn balls get a double dipping into a second color of chocolate. We selected light yellow as they matched the sprinkles. Dip the bottom about half way up the first round of chocolate coating. Sprinkle on the Sprinklefetti sprinkles and place on parchment paper and allow to set up.

TIP: When melting the chocolate try not to get the chocolate too hot as it can burn quickly. You want it fully melted and warm to the touch. When it is too hot it can drip a lot and cause a mess when you go to add the sprinkles. Have a couple extra to do some practice decorating on.

Step 4: Once the chocolate caramel popcorn balls are fully decorated and set you can place them on a serving tray, wrap up for party favors and gifts or place on one of our mini appetizer plates for a dessert table. Add a ribbon or bakers twine to the sticks to create a beautiful presentation.

Dessert Table Idea: To create a unique dessert table display try using one of the caramel popcorn balls as a topper on a cake. It can be a real or fake cake...take a second look at the one we used in our display. It is a faux cake! If you are looking for faux sweets to use for styled events and displays check out our friends at Confection Deception.

Out of curiosity – do you have a favorite caramel popcorn recipe? I’ve used one for years that’s a corn syrup base and it’s pretty sticky and very light colored. Yours look so nice a brown and crispy.
